Maddie Syndergaard
Hi, my name is Maddie. I am 15 years old, and this summer of 2025, I will be going on my second mission trip to Iquitos, Peru. Two years ago, I traveled outside of the country for the first time to serve in Peru. That trip completely changed my life, and I now know that God is calling me to ministry. Once again, He is calling me back to Peru.
My favorite part of serving the people of Peru was praying for and playing with the children. I made some wonderful friends there, and I can’t wait to go back and see them. I love the Lord and have grown up in a Christian household. I first accepted Christ into my heart when I was three years old, but I wouldn’t say my faith truly became my own until four years ago at my church’s winter camp. It was there that I felt the Holy Spirit for the first time and heard God speak into my life, telling me He had a unique plan and purpose for me.
I was born and raised in Idaho with my family. I have one younger brother, who joined me on my last trip to Peru, but this time, I will be going without my family. I attend a Christian school here in the valley and love my teachers and friends. I work very hard in my studies, but when I’m not doing schoolwork, I am dancing, spending time
with friends, or singing on the worship team. I have been dancing for about nine years, and this is my fourth year on a traveling competition team. I also love helping with children’s ministry. The last time we were in Peru, I led a VBS, and I am planning on leading another one this year.
