Ted and Jennifer served full-time in Ethiopia from 2012 to 2019. Ted started the Christian Church of Ethiopia in the South Omo Valley and helped reach eight previously unreached tribes, leading them to find Christ and new life in Him. Each of these tribes now has active, growing churches in their communities.
Additionally, Ted continues to plant churches, train new evangelists, and establish medical clinics and schools in these incredibly remote and underdeveloped areas. There are now active ministries in the South Omo Valley, along with new outreach efforts in South Sudan, Kenya, and Uganda.
They have also launched numerous income-generating projects for local churches, a child sponsorship program, and several medical clinics and schools, all designed to help each community experience a full and abundant life in Christ.
Since leaving the mission field, the Bertlesons have continued their ministry through annual trips to Ethiopia, where they oversee expansion efforts, provide accountability, and train new leaders.
