Greetings, Friends and Family!
We are so excited to share an incredible opportunity that God has placed before us through our church, The Journey. We—Eric, Jelissa, and two of our four children, Levi (9) and Gavin (8)—will be joining The Journey’s team on a short-term mission trip to Iquitos, Peru! For several years, we’ve felt a strong calling to serve abroad, and we are thrilled to finally be lacing up our boots and stepping into the mission field.
In Peru, we’ll take part in a variety of outreach efforts, including providing medical aid, distributing food to those in need, and assisting with construction projects. It’s an incredible privilege to serve the people of Iquitos in these practical ways while sharing the love of Christ with them. We are especially excited to serve alongside our children, knowing this will be a transformative experience for our whole family.
We feel incredibly blessed to witness how God has been cultivating our boys’ hearts for service. They’ve already had the opportunity to help at the VA retirement home, assemble baskets with Love Inc., assist the elderly with moving homes and shoveling driveways, and prepare lunches for the local unhoused population. Watching God grow Levi and Gavin’s compassion has been a true joy, and we can’t wait to see how He stretches their hearts even further in Peru.
