Aysia Kernin

Hi, my name is Aysia Kernin. I served as a middle school math teacher for two years in Boise, Idaho. Now I am starting a new journey. I am preparing to serve in Iquitos, Peru, this late June.

This will be my first mission trip, and I am as excited as I am nervous. I believe God is calling me to teach and share His glory with children of all nations, and Peru is my first step. It is my intention to serve on the vacation Bible school team in educating the local children of Iquitos.

I feel my background in psychology and cross-cultural studies, along with my experience as a teacher, make me a qualified candidate to serve on this mission; and as a fluent Spanish speaker, I am excited to connect with the locals in their native language and share with them on a deeper level.

When I’m not attending church, Bible study, or working; I enjoy practicing my violin or drums, gym sessions with my siblings, being outdoors, and digital painting.

The opportunity to experience another culture, another country is a blessing. A blessing made possible not only by the grace of God but also by support from individuals like you. All forms of support are welcomed, be it prayer, well-wishes, donations, or advice; for you aren’t just helping me, you are helping make a difference in Iquitos.
