Michael & Damaris Boswell – Peru
From water filter projects and community outreach to overseeing the construction of a hospital, Michael and Damaris Boswell are faithfully answering God’s call to serve in Peru.
Michael first arrived in Peru in 2022 with a burden to reach the unreached communities along the Amazon River—villages with little or no access to the Gospel. In June 2025, he married Damaris, and together they launched their ministry as a couple. They are now in the process of securing Michael’s Peruvian citizenship to ensure their long-term presence and ministry in the country.
Since his arrival, Michael has become fluent in the local Spanish dialect and has been actively involved in a wide range of outreach initiatives, including water filter installations, food
distribution, and medical clinics. Most notably, he has been overseeing the construction of a three-story hospital that will provide free medical care to families who otherwise would go without.
Recently, the Boswells were blessed with a small home in the community of Nina Rumi, on the outskirts of Iquitos. Although the local church currently has only three members, the area is filled with people hungry for hope. Michael and Damaris are committed to building relationships, sharing the Gospel, and helping strengthen this young congregation. With Nina Rumi located near the river, they also see it as a launching point to reach even more remote communities deeper in the Amazon.
The road ahead is not without challenges—navigating visas and residency requirements, renovating their home, bridging cultural differences, and earning the trust of their new neighbors. Yet they remain confident that with God’s guidance and the prayers of His people, by 2027 Michael will have full citizenship and their ministry will be thriving and multiplying.
No matter the obstacles, Michael and Damaris are steadfast in their commitment to bring the love of Christ to those who have never heard it.
