Plotz Family – Logos Hope

Matt, Boody & Tabitha – Logos Hope

From 2016 to 2018, Matt served as Chief Cook aboard the Logos Hope, leading the catering team to feed a crew of over 450 people from more than 60 nations. This season allowed him to live out the calling he first received in 2009, that hospitality can be a powerful form of ministry. In July 2017, while serving with a mission organization in Taiwan, Boody joined the ship for 100 days as a stepper, an experience that reinforced her belief in serving God’s people.

This past March 2026, our family took a vision trip together to seek God’s direction. Tabitha quickly made friends within seconds of stepping aboard and found her favorite place on the ship: the Fun Deck.

The Logos Hope is the world’s largest floating bookfair, operated by OM Ships. Crewed by volunteers from around 60 nations, she remains in port for weeks at a time, offering affordable, quality books to communities where they’re often scarce, while crew members serve locally through hospitals, orphanages, churches, and ministry partnerships.

After gaining more leadership experience in restaurants and large-scale food service, we sense God calling us back as a family. Matt will serve as Food Service Department Head, overseeing the galley, café, bakery, and dining room, mentoring young men, and preaching in local churches when the ship is in port. Boody’s calling is service, using her gift for piano in worship and her heart for caring well for others. We believe this is the right season to return, invest in the next generation of crew, and continue pointing people to Jesus.

With gratitude,

Matt, Boody and Tabitha
