Matt, Boody & Tabitha – OM Ships | Logos Hope

God has opened the door for our family to return to the MV Logos Hope, the world’s largest floating bookfair operated by OM Ships. After years of preparation, leadership, and prayer, we are excited to answer His call to serve together as a family.

Matt previously served aboard the Logos Hope from 2016–2018 as Chief Cook, leading the food service team that prepared meals for more than 450 volunteer crew members representing over 60 nations. In 2017, while serving with a mission organization in Taiwan, Boody also spent 100 days aboard the ship, where God deepened her heart for this unique ministry.

Earlier this year, our family returned to the ship for a vision trip, and it confirmed what God had already been stirring in our hearts. Tabitha quickly reconnected with children from crew families and couldn’t wait to return to her favorite place on board—the Fun Deck. We left knowing that God was calling all three of us back to serve.

The Logos Hope serves as far more than a floating bookstore. While in port, the crew partners with local churches and ministries to share the love of Christ through community outreach, hospital visits, orphanage ministries, children’s programs, and evangelism. Every crew member plays a vital role in making that ministry possible.

Matt will serve as Food Service Department Head, overseeing the galley, bakery, café, and dining room while helping care for the physical needs of the international crew. Beyond his leadership responsibilities, he looks forward to discipling young men on board and sharing God’s Word in local churches. Boody will invest in the lives of young women while caring for our family and creating a welcoming home aboard the ship. Together, we desire to encourage, mentor, and serve those who have committed their lives to taking the Gospel around the world.

For Matt, this calling began in 2009 when God impressed on his heart that hospitality is ministry. A meal served with love, a conversation across the table, and faithful service behind the scenes can become powerful opportunities for discipleship and the Gospel. By supporting our family, you are helping provide care for the crew who are reaching thousands of people in ports around the world with the hope of Jesus Christ.
